Hello from Denver

Been trolling around here for eons, never thought to register

I am an ex Navy, ex private yacht captain/engineer and looking to purchase an older Class A pusher.
I have a growing family (19 month old and a new one on the way) and looking to explore the state of Colorado and venture out further.

I'm also an amature racer, so looking to use the RV to tow the car to and from the tracks.

I'm looking to get some feedback into which brands/models are better than others from the 90's - 2000's era.
Hopefully I will gain enough information and knowledge on here to make a good purchase soon.

Cheers

David

Hi David

Glad to have you here in the forum with us. You're gonna like it here.

You have a lot of searching to do and there will be a lot of recommendations made. Take you time and look at as many as you can. When you find one sit in it with your family for a good while and try to determine if it will work for you.

Happy Trails!!!

David,

Welcome to IRV2. I used RV.org to determine the good, the bad and the ugly when I was searching for my RV. There is a lot of information here in the owner forums. Good RV hunting.

Welcome David. Lots of good folks with good info to share here. Read the various threads and ask questions as they come up.
Make the floor plan a top priority. If you are not happy with the floorplan you will never be happy with the rig.
Enjoy the adventure.
We left the Denver area to live in the Caribbean 12 years ago and still miss Colorado.

I spent a lot of time in the Caribbean on yachts. RV's are like....land yachts.

Yes very similar and nearly as costly with upkeep.
Currently drinking my second cup of dark roasted Dominican Coffee on the terrace over looking the ocean

By mentioning 'terrace', that would indicate youre not on a yacht....

As far as upkeep, that is my major concern and why I'm here. I'm particularly worried about the powerplant as most everything else I can fix myself.
I doubt that I will have to write a check for 140k Euros for fuel in a motorhome, but I'm definitely interested in which are the best powerplants (Cummins, CAT) for an RV. Also, which are most economical as I've heard some RV's get 12-14mpg which would be really awesome.
