Just purchased our first TT. Giving up the glamourous world of tenting so we can begin roughing it in 2004 Trail-Lite 8304S (30'). TV is 2004 Durango powered by HEMI. Now before I get a lot of advice on how I have to much trailer for a 120" wheelbase truck, I did a test pull on a windy day without brakes or sway control and it pulled like a breeze. Of course, I'm getting a Prodigy and Reese Dual Cam sway. The new Durango with Hemi is a great tow vehicle. I'm not sure it even new it was towing.

Welcome to iRV2! You will find alot of great people here. Please join in anytime and share your experiences and ask your questions.
What part of Michigan are you from? We have a trip sked for the UP in August. Are you a good person to ask questions about that area?

Thanks for the welcome. I'm from the Grand Rapids area in Western Lower Michigan. Not very familiar with the UP, except a few trips to Sault Sainte Marie. Crossing the bridge on a windy day can be a concern with high profile vehicles, just drive slow in center lane.

Welcome from Canyon Lake, Texas! We went the "natural progression", I guess. We went from the tent to "pop-up", small 5th wheel, 33' 5th wheel and now the 36' DP. It just gets better and better. Have fun!

Camped in the UP two summers ago and it was wonderful. What area are you looking at going to?

Plans are to stop at St. Ignace and do Mackinac island, Soo Locks and maybe the shipwreck museum. Then over to Munising and see Pictured Rocks. Then to Houghton and see the peninsula including Copper harbor. Then to Porcupine state park and come back thru Indian state park. Busy 9 days or so. We have three rigs doing this run. Any thoughts?

Don't forget Taqauminum Falls (speeling off), their sweet. And the Soo Locks in Sualt Saint Marie and watch the Ships some through. I'm from Lower Michigan but I hit the Indian Casino's in the U.P. and there's plenty to see, Iron Mountain is nice too to see an old Mining Town.
