Hello from Michigan!

Last November I traded in my pop up for a 2017 29í Keystone Springdale travel trailer. This is our first TT and Iím not afraid to admit Iím a little nervous!

We have 3 daughters, ages 10, 9 and 7. So far in 2018 we have around 30 nights reserved at campgrounds around Michigan and a trip out to the badlands. Looking forward to some tips and pointers and learning a few things around here!

Shouldn't be a problem, you're already experienced with a pop up. Now the top is up all the time. Just be sure you have enough truck and it's set up correctly.

That we are. When we got the TT, we invested in a good weight distribution and sway control hitch. Just hope I donít take a corner too sharp and take out a mailbox lol.

I would rather see you a little nervous, than over confident. That way you will be paying attention to all your surroundings. Enjoy the new TT, and above all, always be safe. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome and congrats on the new rig. Lots of helpful folks here. Enjoy the adventure. After a couple of nights you won't miss the pop up anymore

Wecome to the forum from another Michigander. I hope you don't have too much ice covering your TT this morning!

Glad to have you here in the forum with us. You're gonna like it here.

Take it slow in the beginning and allow yourself extra space to do things. It will eventually become easy to drive.

Happy Trails!!!

Welcome to the family

When we went from a popup to a hybrid trailer back in 05', it was so nice to have a cabinet for everything. You won't have to worry about as much on rainy days.

TIP #1 Make reference to wind direction when setting up camp. Your now dealing with a much larger awning. When it rains, dip one end of the awning a few inches to let water roll off better. If high wind is expected towards the awning, have good tie-downs. The stakes that are the twirly ones hold better in the ground. If going away for the day, where there might be even a slight chance of rain, either roll the awning up, tie it down, or dip it to a 45 degree angle.

Noted! The awning is one of my favorite things about our unit. So much easier to set up and use compared to the awning on the pup up when we had to put together and connect poles.
