Below zero in Hazen
We are spending our second winter fulltime in our RV. Since I posted my hello, we have been learning about the challenges of -10 degree living in our motorhome. No time to navigate around this forum till now. Thanks for the responses so far and howdy!

Chickadee,
We are about 30 miles East of Reno, just outside of Fernley on Hwy. 50. How about you folks? There is no Global Warming going on around here! it's been downright cold.

Brad & Patti (Knight pilot):
Wife and I are full timers (no house, no stuff) out of Duluth, Minnesota, originally, but have been residents of S. Dakota, my wife's family home, since we started this lifestyle back in 05. We're presently staying WARM down here near Tampa, but will be migrating W. toward Arizona after January.
Couldn't find Fernley on my atlas map so will check on line later. We hung out just S. of Carson City for a week or so on our return trip S. from Alaska back in 07.....you sure have beautiful country around there. Ofcourse we had to poke around Tahoe, Donner, and Virginia City (fun!!), and sure enjoyed it. This was late October and when the mountains just to the West of our campground started turning white.....we ran South to Death Valley then Pahrump. Being from Duluth, ain't afraid of snow & cold....but....warm sunshine just feels better . Try it...you'll like it!! Steve & Lynette

Still cold here
Steve and Lynette, Did you ever locate Fernley? We are about 30 miles East of Reno. Still snow on the ground since last storms over two weeks ago! Where are you now? Hope all is well. Brad and Patti

Welcome Knight pilot,
I thought Reno and points east were beautiful and very comfortable. Of course I was there in June. Feel free to come on south. We have one more spot that we're holding for you.

Brad & Patti (Knight pilot):
We're presently camped at a little RV park in Ruskin, Florida (SE Tampa Bay). Spent Halloween down at Bluewater Key RV Resort by Key West (WONDERFUL!!), then migrated up here by Tampa since our son and his family live here. He's career Air Force (Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD)...BOMB SQUAD!! of ALL things) and just departed on Dec. 27th for his 4th deployment to Afghanistan...dang!! Now we'll wait and worry till he gets back!!
Yup, I did finally find Fernley on our Atlas (must of missed it first time). As I mentioned before, we SURE liked that area and will likely poke through there again. Don't think we'd winter there however. So,...what's your "full time" situation as to why you elect to winter up in cold country?? Don't mean to pry, but just curious.
Steve & Lynette

Chickadee,
How will will you be at Tampa South? We have reservations for 1-13 & 14 to attend the RV Supershow. Looks like a good RV park from the photos and reviews. Thank your son for his service!

Chuck & Mary (Our Time):
Actually we're not at Tampa South but a little neat spot called Sun Lake RV Park just off I-75 in Ruskin, FL. Yup, we'll likely run over to the Super Show at the fairgrounds again this year. Not buying, just lookin at all the new rigs, and the "stuff." We usally end up getting a couple of those big plastic bags they give away, and fill em with freebee stuff and of course brochures. Gives us something to do later as we sort through and toss most of it, but, hey, gotta stay on top of the technology somehow...eh? Maybe we'll run in to you there. Steve & Lynette
