Hello from New Brunswick

I bought a 96 Maverick last year so I could spend a month touring Newfoundland and not have to stick my dogs in a kennel or try and find hotels that will allow 2 big dogs. Best way to travel with 2 big dogs.

Wanted to go to Nfld but found out dogs had to be left in the vehicle alone with no access or in a kennel away from owners for duration of trip - 6 to 12 hours (presuming no delays)depending on where you are headed. Didn't like that idea and neither would dogs!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Funny, but I'd imagine that the RV industry would only be half it's current size if it weren't for all of us who buy them to have our dogs by our sides.

Spent a month in the Maritimes a couple of years ago along with our three dogs. Seeing the Bay of Fundy was on my bucket list. Had a great time.

We're glad you found us.

The kennel area on the ferry might be 10' x 20' and you have to have your own airline approved kennel. It is basically a steel closet outside on the deck. The 6 hour ferry is the best option but does mean they are alone for 8-9 hours. If your dogs sleep through the night take the late ferry, walk them as late as you can before they start boarding, leave a bowl or two water and they should be fine.

Welcome to the irv2 gang! Glad you and your "fellow travelers" decided to join in. We have two Westie terriers and feel the same way. It's lots more fun to travel with them in our MH than in a cramped car. Good luck and safe travels to ya!
