Hello from Northern AZ

Hi All,

We are Tony and Kim from northern AZ and last weekend just purchased our first RV, a beautiful 2014 Minnie Winnie!! We are so excited and we have so much to learn about RV'ing. We pick it up next Tuesday and are already planning our first few trips, so many places to see in AZ.
Any one with a tip on where we should go first? We are thinking maybe a KOA in Williams or Flagstaff.
Suggestions greatly appreaciated.
Happy to be members here.

Welcome Tony & Kim. The casinos at Laughlin, NV across from Bull Head City are fun. Have a relaxing drink in one of the piano bars overlooking the river.

Welcome to iRV2.
Take a video camera with you for your , owner orientation tour, record everything the person says, read all the brochures and operators manuals , before you venture out, on the road. Crawl through every compartment , look at everything closely, and if you see something your not sure of , take a picture , post it and ask. If ,possible camp out in your back yard for a few nights to get the feel of everything.
Travel safe and enjoy your new RV.

Welcome to the irv2 gang! Sounds like you are right in the middle of a lot of great places to visit in your new Minnie Winnie. All of the places mentioned already sound like great choices. Make that first trip memorable is my recommendation. Also, someone here recommended in the past that we make our first outing closer to home than "far off." That way if something did go wrong, the impact is not as bad on that first outing. Some others even suggested staying at the RV dealership or nearby for the first night or so just so the dealer resource is there close by (in case you forget instructions or have something you really need fixed before that special first outing). Whatever you do, have a great time!

WOW, Thanks everyone for the great tips. We are going to take the video camera with the orientation next week, camp in our drive way for a night or two while reading the manuals. Our first trip, reservation already made is just over the mountain to Dead Horse Ranch State Park. The best part is our two dogs will be able to go, we have 18000 btu A/C so they dont overheat and we have a mountain bike carrier for our toys. We are sooo excited, what a great way to explore the outdoor without giving up lifes little luxeries.

We love Williams. There are two KOA's in Williams, both are nice but the one along the freeway is noisy. The one north on 64 is much quieter.

We've stayed at Canyon Motel and RV Park, and the GC Railroad Park. They are both good choices.

Personally I prefer the KOA on the 64 because it's quieter, but for your first run just have fun and be safe. You'll learn to get picky about parks on your own soon enough. ;-)
