Hello from Oregon
Just joined up after purchasing our 5th RV. We started in 1990 with a 21' Itasca and had two other Itascas and a Pace Arrow over the years. I'm a huge fan of Winnebago products.
The biggest and best so far, as of last Friday we bought a 2008 Itasca Sunrise 35L with the Workhorse chassis. Its in overall great condition with 31,000 miles but it does seem to suffer from the metal prep issues which have caused peeling paint and rust beneath the storage doors. I plan to address that soon.
I'm a car nut/drag racer and have had great luck over the years getting answers from forums like this. It amazes me how much you can learn from others who have been there and done that. A great use of the internet!
Cheers!

35L is a great floor plan . I have the voyage 35L workhorse do you have W24 chassis? What Nova do you have? I have a 67SS Do you plan on sanding then using POR 15?

I'm not sure yet what I'll use. I heard that NAPA sells a good product to neutralize the rust. I have friends who used POR 15 on floor pans and chassis on their cars with good results so I may look at that too.
My Nova is a 67, not an SS. Its a twin turbo 540 BBC, mostly a race car but its still street legal.

Also, this is a little embarrassing but I'm not even sure what the W24 designation is. It does have the 22.5 wheels, not sure if that answers it.

Welcome.
Our previous coach was a Winnebago and I had a lot of rust develop around the exterior compartments and in some places under the coach.
I had very good results with a product called Rust Seal which was recommended to me by a friend who owned an auto body shop and did a lot of restorations. It is not as messy to use as POR 15. I got Rust Seal from O'Reilly's. Scuff up the metal, brush on Rust Seal. Top coat is not required but I did paint over it.
