Hello from Oregon!

Hi all! We recently found ourselves in a position to leave the apartment renting behind and set out in an old, but new to us, rv. We are currently parked in Florence, Oregon in our 36' 1997 Damon Ultrasport. We are complete newbies, so I apologize in advance for any silly questions we may ask. We spent the first four days without power before finding out that our generator is powered by propane lol. We don't really know what we're doing, but we are learning something new every day. I have found answers here more than once already, so I decided I had better sign up! Thanks for all the helpful advice I have found here. I look forward to learning all I can!

We have been going to Florence for the past 10 years and stay at Pacific Pines RV. We have friends and relatives that live in Florence.

Have you eaten at Chen's yet? I love their Almond Chicken.

How to make a signature for your RV so we can serve you better.

1 .Click "User CP" on left side of the screen in about the middle.
2. Click "Edit Signature" on left side 7 bars down under Your Control Panel.
3. Fill out your signature information.
4. Click "Save Signature"

I think I got a signature made now! We were watching a movie tonight and somehow managed to drain our battery, as the coach won't start now. Our generator runs off the propane and I guess the ignition was left on aux position because the generator dies if we turn the rv engine off...sigh.. pretty sure something is wired wrong in there somewhere. So here we sit, with dead batteries. Good thing we have a couple more days here at the casino to figure this out.

Didn't know you could stay at the Casino. No hookups though?

Nope. Just a big parking lot. You can stay 4 days free, and extend another 4 days if you spend money in the casino.

If you join the Elks there in Florence you can use their campgrounds just north of town or stay in their parking lot right in town. You could then do some volunteer work at the lodge. Great bunch of people.

Welcome to the forum from Northern Oregon, lots of good sources here. Got questions feel free to ask. Sometimes you can find answers using the search mode.

I never thought about that! Do you happen to know how much it costs to join the Elks? We love doing volunteer work!

It varies from lodge to lodge. Ours is about $130 a year and takes a month or two to join. Go to the lodge there in Florence and talk to them. They'll be happy to get some workers.
