DW's family still has the oil/mineral rights on a section in southern Sask. hope they find oil there .

That seems to be more common in the southern part of the province; my dad's land certainly doesn't; "minerals in the crown". I knew a gal who retired early after she started raking in 80K a MONTH after they found oil on her inherited piece of land. No idea if production stayed at that level, but holy cow!

It was a good place to grow up. People there or from there are/were raised different. Good morals. You could still do a deal on a hand shake with most of them.
