Well we made the big step and sold everything to buy our motorhome and we leave to start our adventure in just 8 days. Everything has gone well but today was a bit rocky. We have been loading the motorhome up and packing things to go and one item on the list was to get the dolly I just got ready to tow. I picked up the dolly used and I was happy with the price and it needed some repairs and a new set of tire straps. I got the straps and fixed a few of the issues with some welding ect. today. I wheeled it out behind the motorhome today and got a new trailer lock for the hitch and put it on. The spare tire in the back for the motorhome was flat so i loaded it in the mini van and took it to the local tire shop for repair. When I arrived back home an hour later I had 6 cops and a crowd of folks around my coach and the dolly. I jumped out and asked what is going on. They asked if I owned the motorhome and the dolly I said yes. Then the cop said well this dolly might be stolen and it looks like it belongs to this guy here they just spotted it while driving by. Well my heart sank and I knew I had been took by the young fellow that sold it to me. I explained that I just bought it and I was very sorry for the guy that got it taken from. I then asked the cops to come with me to the house of the guy I bought it from. We did and now I have to wait 6 days for the kid to get paid before I will get my money back. Problem is the cops have had problems with this kid before and they are going to stick a felony on the kid for steeling this dolly. I dont figiure he is going to stick around and wait to go to prison for it and so I know I am going to be out. To say the least I am happy that the guys that got robbed got there dolly back but it has sure wrecked our plans to get started on our RV adventure. I guess I feel pretty good that I gave the dolly back to the owner but I sure am down that I dont have a way to tow the mini van at the moment. My family was shaken up and my son cryed cause we just did all the work to the dolly together to get it ready to go and it got taken away. On the flip side we are still really looking forward to our trip and we know good things are just around the corner.

I just wanted to drop in and say hello and I guess vent a bit.

Happy RV'ing and this is a great site!!!!

RVcruzzer, so sorry to hear of the problem with the tow dolly. Try to look at it this way; it could have been much worse. Welecome to iRV2.com. We are glad to have you join us here and we look forward to reading of your adventures and experiences. You will find we are a group of fun loving RVers that like to help each other where we can. I would not be supprise to hear of some one here that has or knows of someone trying to sell a dolly. Have you looked in our classified section? Good luck and keep us up on how things go. If you have any questions, just ask.

WOW. What a story! That's the best one I've read since becoming a new member myself. Let's hope that's the worst of it and you can now enjoy the life of a full-timer without those kinds of worries. If you are ever out Oregon-way and stop by the Rogue River, check out the Cypress Grove RV Park. It's a bit close to the freeway (noise), but the residents are good people and I think you'll enjoy it.

Thanks guys!

I will be sure to check out that RV spto also. I am in Northern Ca. in Fort Bragg, We are headed for the valley then Yosemite after that. Kinda just bounce around Ca. till the weather clears then we can head out from there.

I will keep my eyes out for a tow dolly or used tow bar setup.

Thanks again and glad to be here.
