Talking Hello from SW Virginia

My husband and I sold our condo in Charlotte NC 6 months ago and retired to our 80 acres in SW Virginia (we are in our 50's). We both had jobs that required a lot of travel. As he likes to say "Carey and I have seen every major city in the US, but nothing in between" - so, we bought a 29' 2013 Coachman Freedom Express and are getting ready to make our first trip in April to a SC State Park on the beach. I love the iRV2 site and all the great information. Thank you - to a GREAT community.

PS - Forgive me in advance for all the silly questions I'll ask in the future (like where do you fill up/dump when boondocking). Oh, and thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.

Welcome aboard. Went to Grayson Highlands State park in Virginia after the Rally last year. It's a great park, had a great time hiking around and enjoying the scenery. Not much for cell service or internet hook-up but it was nice to get totally away from it all for a few days. Jim

Hey Jim - Tony and I were actually camping in Grayson Highlands when I picked up a real estate book - that lead to the purchase of our property outside Abingdon VA. Love that park. Thanks for the welcome... next time you are up this way give us a shout

You're going to love seeing the rest of the country. Ask any and all questions. someone will probably know the answer even if others of us don't. We all ask something sooner or later. smile

and you fill up before you boondock..and dump after you your blackwater tank is full or your out of water..youll just have to check on the net for campsites or rv dealers or other places that have the option for dumping..good luck and safe travels
