Hello From the Road

My name is Ginny. My husband, Eric, and I just celebrated our first anniversary as full timers on April 7. Our house sold sooner than we expected and Eric's Mom let us stay in her driveway until a local campground opened in early May.

We stayed at Arrowhead Marina and Campground in Glenville, NY until we retired from our jobs on September 12, 2012 and hit the road. I chronicle our travels at Walkabout With Wheels.

Our frenetic travels have slowed considerably. We have been in North Carolina since March 24. After the SKP Acre 2013 Rally SKP ACRE 2013 in Marion, we will head north to Schenectady, NY to spend time with family and friends.

This first year has been amazing! I look forward to our continued adventures on the road. There's so much to see and do; so many people to meet.

Safe travels, everyone!

Hi Ginny & Eric! Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join us!

I'm so jealous! We are so tempted to go full-time but just can't muster the courage to sell the house and take the plunge! Have fun!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Thanks for the welcome! Where is your home base? We are native New Yorkers who did not miss the snow this winter.

Welcome. Glad you are having fun. We are four years from retirement in Upstate NY. At this time our plan is to keep the sticks and bricks and use the MH to go south for the snowy months. We are looking forward to being able to move about in the winter if we want, or just stay somewhere warmer than here.

Welcome to iRV2 and to North Carolina. Glad to have you both here.

We are in the process of selling our sticks & bricks. I am pretty nervous and at the same time excited. However we won't be retiring for sometime. We will travel around the country for my dw's job as a traveling nurse & I will drive or fly back to my job each week. I only work 3 days a week and i have travel benifits with my employer. I have been doing this on every other week basis for several years now.

I read some of your blog. Nice pics. If you are looking for a good place to go wheeling in NC you may want to check out Uwharrie OHV trails in the Uwharrie National Forest. There are camp grounds there also.
