Smile Hello from the Show Me state

Hello,
My wife and I are new to this RV thing. We spent many years doing tent camping while the kids were young and our backs were strong. Now that we are retired and the kids are adults, we felt it was time to be kind to our bodies and enjoy the fruits of our labor and so we bought a 2011 Keystone Express Ultra Lite 199ML. I pull the trailer with my 2004 Chevy 2500 with a Duramax Diesel engine. I joined this site to gain understanding and give us insight on this new adventure. We plan to take trips in all directions throughout the country spending anywhere from a long weekend to a couple weeks. I really don't know where to start with this site so any suggestions would be welcomed.
Thanks

Welcome and congratulations on the decision to start camping again! It is a fun means of meeting a lot of nice people.

If you haven't already, I would check out the "the travel trailer" discussions under the RV Forums header to the far upper left of the main window. I like to browse through the threads looking for anything interesting or pertinent to my rig. You can also perform a search for a specific question you might have and, of course, you can also post a question if you can't find the answer. Another way I monitor the forum is by checking out the NEW POSTS header.

Just have fun and explore.

You know, considering you are from the "Show Me State", I would expect a picture of your rig to be included in your post. ...there are instructions on how do post images if you are so inclined...but definitely not a requirement.

I hope you two have many happy and safe travels. My wife and I are still in the learning stage ourselves but we are having a great time!

Cheers
Chance

Welcome gstrunk.
Just over the state line here in Kansas.
Start with a shorter trip to remember all those things you forgot over the years! Then go on and enjoy yourself!
My story is pretty much the same... used to take the boys camping in tents, the ground got harder and harder over the years, went to hauling a cot around...eventually, I needed enough stuff to make it comfy enough I just decided to go with a motorhome and learn to set it up solo and take care of the house functions myself. Sometimes I still go by myself, but hubby has a toy he likes using in new spots, and so sometimes we put our toys together for a weekend, or a week and have a lot of fun!

Welcome to IRV2!

I got on here about a year ago and have found a lot of good information. It seems like just about any question you can come up with is likely to have an answer or a discussion.

DW and I hail from Jefferson City; maybe we'll see you on the road sometime!

Hello, welcome to IRV2. I would just start going down the list of catagories and read the ones that interest you. I try and read General Discussion and Just Conversation every day. Enjoy your adventures and safe travels.
