Hello from Virginia

My Uncle started the whole camping journey. When I was a kid he used to bring surplus army supplies. Then camping with the Girl Scouts when the kids were smaller. Then onto a large pop-up. In June we bought a used Class A. In August, we are taking it out on our first trip.

When we bought our camper, it smelled strongly of cleaning products. When driving it home a week later, my DH said he caught a whiff of something. Each week it got worse. Friends and co-workers who have RVs said black water. HMMMM. But it is in the front of the coach. You open the door and the smell slaps you in the face but in the rear there was no odor. Last week, enough was enough. Started going though compartment by compartment. Under the dash, I found an agenda from 2005 for the prior owners. Behind the sofa I found a throw. I threw it out onto the driveway. My DH opened it. There was a dead mouse inside. After two days of airing it out, there is no longer an odor.
