Hello from Virginia with our first RV.
Purchased our new to us 2015 Tiffin Allegro Red last September. Our first trip other than a 1 night shake-out at a local campground was to meet a gentleman through an RV driving school. Highly recommend - the gentleman who trained us gave us confidence and tips on lining up on the road and into and out of spaces. Can even parallel park our 38' 9" RV, which we ended up needing our first overnight boondock. Now I just wish someone reminded us to turn on the propane since it was November and cooollllddd in the morning.
Our first weekend camp taught us the joys of toy ownership. Both A/Cs decided to not work on a 90 degree day. Something about a design change by the manufacturer from a 5 blade to a 3 blade caused 1 of the units to shimmy and break it's mounts. And of course my furry family member decided she needed to cuddle. Who-boy just what I needed - 102 degree furry kitty.
We're off to the Tiffin Rally next week. Wish us luck... and nothing else to go wrong (is that an option when RVing?)
Be sure to say Hi if you see CATS2GO.

Welcome to the forum! What part of VA? We spent 7 years with me working in Lynchburg and commuting to Richmond on the weekends, where our home was. Beautiful part of the country!

Welcome from former VA residents. We lived in the Hampton/Newport News area in 1971-74. We went out there from WA when I got the chop in the big Boeing layoffs and I managed to land a position with one of NASA-Langley's contractors.
Being from NW UK originally and then WA, we had a very difficult time with the humidity during the summer months. I went back to Boeing in '74 and retired in 1998. We're now living at the seaside in the northern part of WA where the rainfall is about 60% of what Seattle gets and we get more sunny days, but it's a tad cooler. We're about half a mile north of the coast of Burroughs Bay. It's about 400' deep a couple of miles off shore and it's primarily snow-melt run-off water. Even in the height of summer, the water temperature out there is only about 55 F.
We have no plans to go anywhere else unless I'm in a wooden overcoat!
