Hello from Washington.

Hello,

Judy Rae and I are first time rv'ers and just returned from our 3000 mile maiden voyage to Iowa for our grandsons graduation. We had a blast. Learned a few things of course too. Like a missing toilet pedestal seal is not pleasant and sometimes reconnecting wires to the motherboard on the washer/dryer drain pump saves an expensive repair charge.

The dreaded blackwater tank flushing takes some getting used too and the grey water tank fills up way too fast. The thermistor is really important and we took way too much food but not near enough beer.

More importantly, I only forgot to lower the TV antenna once and a kind fellow motorist pointed out my mistake before any damage. Thank God the vent hatches don't face forward as I left one open due to the missing toilet seal.

What a wonderful trip. So good in fact we have already made reservations for our anniversary trip to Seaside Oregon in a couple of weeks and are seriously considering a trip to Texas in September to see my mom and sister and some high school friends.

Why did we wait soooo long?

Loving it.

Rick and Judy Rae

Welcome to the forum!

But you are doing it all wrong...

We are starting in Texas, working our way to Oregon, then a wedding in Seattle in July, and back to Oregon to stay. Exactly opposite of what you guys are doing. Hey, we might pass each other along the way!

Welcome to the forum. Although we've retired from RVing, I still read it regularly. We're way out west in Anacortes, where we've lived for 16 years since I retired from Boeing.

We finally concluded that, since we live in a place where folks pay good money to visit, wandering around burning gas at an 8-mpg rate wasn't that good an activity. We had three good years, primarily on the Oregon coast, but never went out the fourth year.
