Smile Hello from Western North Carolina

New to this site but "old" in more ways than one!-RV'ers. We've been rving since 1999 and have had a Pace Arrow Vision, Winnebago Journey. Safari Trek, and Winnebago View. I'm trading the View for a Winnebago Vista 30T in early May. I really like the View for handling and mpg but the tight space got to me after 3 years. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has a 30T and their experiences with that coach. Spring seems to finally be springing in our area and I'm ready to roll! If any forum members are planning to be in this area anytime, let me know and I'll be glad to point out some places to sight-see. This area of North Carolina is really nice from now until the end of October. Not too bad the rest of the year! John, Bev and "Molly" (our pooch)

Hi John & Bev! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined us!

I envy you, living in that beautiful area of the country! The mountains of NC are our favorite place to be! We usually stay up there for the month of October, driving up the Blue Ridge Parkway chasing the fall foliage! We have stayed at Maggie Valley the last two or three years.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

John welcome to the forum. We are leaving for Fayetteville this weekend. From Indianapolis I guesss I will take I75 to I 40 and then take I 95 .I really like to get off the interstate but as a newbie I am a little afraid of the mountains and getting on a bad road.
Any suggestions on the route or some points of interest we should not miss.We are visiting a granddaughter for a couple days and taking 2 weeks to go down and back so we are not in a hurry.
I started mapping out a route using US 27 US 460 and others but not sure of the roads and what to expect in the montains.

Welcome to IRV2 and I'm sure you will like it here.

We are also from Western NC 2 hours south of Asheville, in fact we are 2 hours from anywhere such as Chattanooga or Atlanta. I wouldn't trade this area for anything.

In fact we drive oveer Smoky Mtn National park to enjoy Pigeon Forge and never have any problem with mountain driving as long as you use your gears going up and down.

Again Welcome and enjoy your Winnebago!
