Hello from Western Pennsylvania

Hi, we are from Western Pennsylvania. I purchased my first travel trailer this past March. It's a 2017 Keystone 248RKS. I tow with a 2016 Ram 1500 quad cab. 5.7 Hemi, 8-speed, and 3.21 gears. I made a few changes to the truck to make it more comfortable towing. I added Tufftruk 25% increased rear springs, Helwig rear sway bar, airbags, Bilstein shocks and struts, and a set of Falken load E tires. We have made a few local camping trips over the last summer and one longer trip to Indiana. Camper seems to tow well with the truck although I don't think I would want to tow any bigger than this. We will be taking a much longer trip to Arizona in the spring. I am glad I found this site because I have learned a few things. Like I want to change my trailer tires before our next trip.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum! This is a great site to learn what you need to learn about your RV. YouTube is also a great place to research anything RV.

Tires are very important on your rig and TV. (tow vehicle) Hope you have a great trip!

Lynne

I like it. Even with the 3.21 gears it works well with towing. I have never had any problems with towing our camper. It even does well when towing our car hauler with Jeep on it and that's almost 6800lbs. When I'm not towing I average 19mpg.

Hello. Don't forget to check out all the things here in pennsylvania. Sounds like your set up for a great adventure. I like to do a shake down cruise each spring. We go just north of you. We're from W Pa. As well. Stay safe and enjoy the adventures ahead. Dusty
