Hello From Wheaton, Illinois

I am new to iRV2 and look forward to learning from many of you who have been down this path already.

My wife and I plan to retire and full time in a little over a year from now. We have been researching the many different Class A motorhomes and have settled on the Tiffin Phaeton 36GH. We have read many "if I had to do it over again" comments and concluded that we do not want to take the depreciation hit that many people experience when they buy new. Therefore, we are looking for a 2015 Tiffin Phaeton 36GH.

We have read many articles regarding motorhome depreciation rates and from what we have learned, depreciation is typically 10% - 15% per year. We have also learned that a buyer of a new coach should expect to be able to obtain a 25% - 30% mark down off MSRP from the dealership. In fact, at this year's RV Show in Chicago, without blinking, the salesperson offered to take 35% off a new unit.

The problem we are having is the disconnect we seem to be experiencing as we look through all of the different ads with the asking price of used coaches and what we perceive should be a realistic offer price. We would appreciate any insight anyone can provide.

The Phaeton is a fine coach! Hope you find the deal you want!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Welcome. Lots of good folks here with good info. If you are serious about a Tiffin and looking to buy new then i would suggest you contact Sherman RV in Sherman Mississippi. They are the closest of the big three to you and will give you the best price (all three will) hands down.
Good luck on the search
