Well, my girlfriend(Michelle) and I (Mark) have taken the plunge and purchased a 1991 Alexxa 28' class A motorhome. Slapped new tires all around and journeyed 400 miles from Phoenix AZ to Oceanside, CA

Lots of work is now in progress. We plan to be on the road March 1 to head to Ft Lauderdale to go back "home" and see both of our families for about a month.

Cheers to a promising future of friends and fun on the road and these forums.

We hope to keep an organized blog of everything we do. Starting with the replacing the roof ASAP after funds are available and before nice weather disappears, then moving on to the next project.

Mark

Lovely to "meet" you! We did almost the exact same trip last year (San Diego to S.FL). We're wintering here now and will be going back west this year. Feel free to drop in if we cross paths. Enjoy the road! Nina

Definitely nice to meet you. While newly introducing myself, I've been reading here for some time while researching and have come across many of your posts and parts of your blog.

We'll visit South Florida for about a month than journey back west to California and ??

I was born and raised in Ft lauderdale, and have tent camped at markham park many times throughout the years. Ive seen it change due to hurricanes as well.

On a side note, Im jealous because not far from you there is a place called Sunrise Pita on University, just north of Sunrise blvd. The falafel and shawarma unforgettable. I will be stopping there on my visit for sure

Hello,

Resources for answers, absolutely.

A couple years ago I joined teardrops&TTT as I built a custom "teardrop" trailer that was 6'x12' and really got into it and just sold, and the wealth of information from forums is invaluable.

I have been joining forums and chatting with people with similar interest for over 10 years now. It started with cars, progressed into 2strokes and diesels, fullsize trucks, then welding, building homemade jet engines etc.... Learning never stops and I enjoy tinkering with EVERYTHING, and not afraid to tackle and project

The one MAJOR part to include in all forums is PICTURES, and with Michelle being a photographer/web design person that aspect will hopefully be taken care of, as I usually only manage to get a few pictures throughout and entire repair or change cause I forget to grab the camera while all dirty.

Welcome Mark & Michelle,
Have a safe journey on you trip to Ft Lauderdale. I grew up in Broward County (Hallandale/Hollywood) before there was a Florida Turnpike. Drop me a PM on your way and I'll spring for coffee or lunch as you pass through Pensacola.
