Hello all,
Well, brand new to the site and only a couple weeks old into truck camping. I have a 2002 Lance Lite 835 on a 2003 Ford F-350, 4x4, 7.3 diesel truck. Also have a 2006 Terry Quantum 30' 5th-wheel.
Live in Lake Charles, Louisiana - 30-miles east of Texas and 30-miles north of the Gulf of Mexico. Retired after 30-years with the Lake Charles Police Department and presently Chief Deputy with the Ward 3 Marshal's Office. Love to hunt, fish, ride my jetskis, 4-wheeler, kayak, and Harley (just to name a few hobbies).
Just got back from a 3-day hunt and first use of the new truck camper. Well, it's new to me and in almost new condition. Spent the last 5-years in a garage and only used 7-times prior to that by the original owner. Infact, the shower and heater had never been used and some cushions still had plastic wrap on them.
So, look forward to visiting with you all!
Karl Gillard

Welcome Karl,
Enjoy your retirement and don't let those Texas Boomers use all your beer money. Save some for new friends passing through from Florida. One other thing, that section of I-10 through Lake Charles could use a little work on it. Think you could pull some strings and get something done about that?

Hahahaha.....Jim, it would take more than string to get these people to fix I-10 through Lake Charles. People complain on a daily basis around here and it doesn't seem to do any good. I ride a Harley Road King and really enjoy it once I'm out of Calcasieu Parish (for those of you not familiar with "Parish", it would be the same as your County). I believe all road inspectors should have to ride a rigid frame motorcycle when inspecting. Bet we'd have the best roads in the US then! Take care and look forward to see ya'll sometimes.
