My wife and I just retired and instead of buying a home in the mountains, opted for an RV. She came form a longtime "Airstream" family. We plan to travel the USA including Alaska and Canada. Winston, our "Westie" goes with us, provides comfort and security and enjoys the lifestyle. Our toad will be a Jeep Liberty 4WD soon to be delivered.
We plan on sharing our experiences with all of you and making comments on the campgrounds we visit.

MMeads:

Hi from Mitchell, SD, and a big WELCOME to this iRV2 site. My wife, Lynette, and I sold the house and ALL the "stuff" and hit the road full time back in 05. Been enjoying it ALOT ever since.

So what type of rig are you looking at? Sure do envy your Jeep tow vehicle. Right now we tow an 05 Honda Element. UUUUGGGLY, but very very functional. Think our next toad will likely be a Jeep also.

OH, by the way, if ya have never been up in Alaska, you're gonna LOVE it. It's a wonderful trip!!

Again, a big WELCOME. Hope to meet ya down the road sometime.

Steve & Lynette

MMeades...We did the same thing, retired, sold the truck and camper and didn't want to be tied down with a vacation home in one place sooo bought a used Moterhome with a toad and had so much fun we decided to get one with slides and have had a great time ever since. 70,000 plus miles and loving it. We take a short trip to the beach about once a month for five or six days at a time and then a long trip (3 months or so ) once a year. We too have a little Sophie that travels with us. You are in for a real adventure.
