Welcome Barb. A diluted solution of bleach works.

Sometimes black mold can be tough to get rid of. Brush it off best as possible with a stiff brush, then spray with bleach solution.

If it is truly THE black mold, you will want to wear a mask when you work with it. The air born particles can get in your lung and create all sorts of health issues. More than likely it is not THE black mold.
An alternate to bleach for the mold is vinegar. With either one, you may need more than one application to get it all.
You can also buy commercial moldicides for the problem. I either cas, you need to stop the moisture problem first.

I'd recommend a product sold by Costco called "Wet and Forget". The name describes how it's used!
I used it three seasons ago, to get green mold off our garden fencing. It's still mold free. With other treatments I had to do it every six months. I used a tank sprayer to apply it.
