Hello Everyone,
Been spending evenings around camp fires since the 1970's; first tenting, still have that Eureka tent in the basement. Graduated to a slide-in for the 4wd pickup, allowing for ocean beach camping. Many beautiful ocean campgrounds are still available here on Eastern Long Island. With marriage and children came a class C, a 1992 Cobra 28', which served us well for over 17 years. As with all the rolling stock around the yard, I have done all the maintenance and repairs myself, from oil changes to brakes and even a complete rubber roof. All the original systems were 100% when class C was sold last week. The class C may be gone, but the wonderful memories will last forever.
What brings us to here, besides piles of questions concerning our new to us, 2000 Damon Intruder 36', is our hopes of learning from "real people" the ins and outs of Class A ownership and extended travel time RVing. As retirement provides us time for longer outings, family and stick and bricks still hold us close to home. Fulltiming is not in the plans yet, but 4 to 6 wk trips are within our grasp.
After spending hours reading through many of iRV2 forums, it appears to be comprised of extremely helpful, knowledgeable and caring people who will give of their time and life experiences to benefit, for the most part, total strangers. That's a very special type of fellowship found in only the best of organizations. With luck and over time I would hope to meet and spend time around a camp fire with many of the members who's posts I've read and learned from, exchanging stories and perhaps a few beers.
I would hope my camping, automotive and life experiences over the past 40+ years, will benefit some members. Looking forward to sharing many posts in the future.
I promise they'll be much shorter!

Rich and Carrie

Welcome to iRV2!

My wife has a bunch of relatives on 'Lon Giland' - Elmont, Baldwin, Ronkonkama, Farmingville... They have no necks and say 'Yo' a lot. Most are named 'Ant-knee'. Not your typical RV people but family is family.

Hope you enjoy participating in the forum!

Rich & Carrie;

We are glad you found us. I believe you have found the friendliest site on the Internet. Post often and share your RV adventures with us. As you have already learned, we have a great group here who like to help when they can.

Tom & Katharine,
I think we might have camped next to her family a couple of weeks ago. Do they wear Yankee shirts?

We look forward to being active members on the forum. We both enjoy working on "projects" together and look forward to sharing ideas and searching for improvements to our new "home"!

Thanks for the welcome

Don,

We do not join organization without doing our homework. What attracted us to iRV2 was not only the quantity of forums and topics addressed, but more importantly the quality of responses provided by members.

We hopeto give back as much as we receive from the members!

Thanks for the welcome!

Bill,
Thanks for the call out! We were almost neighbors, as I worked in Massapequa from 1975 until 2006. Carrie and I are looking forward to many wonderful trips all around this beautiful country! Safe traveling to you and yours!
