Smile Hello y'all

Hello, I'm Phyllis and my husband is Gene. We are retired & newbies to RVing. Are two dachshunds are Biscuit and Stitch. We have a 2011 Entegra Aspire. We are experiencing quite a steep learning curve. We have been looking for answers to issues we are experiencing with the inverter not working correctly on shore power. Once we figure this out we are excited to start traveling.

Good morning and welcome to IRV2! Please share with us some more details about what you're experiencing, start with 'what works and what doesn't' and go on to 'what you've tried and what resulted.' With that info someone in your new circle of friends can help with some recommendations. Take care ... safe travels ...

Phyllis, Gene, Biscuit, & Stitch, welcome to the forum. Try turning the inverter off while on shore power. It's not needed. Sounds like you shore power bypass maynot be working correctly.

On shore power house batteries are not charging

When plugged into shore power the inverter is on but the house batteries are not charging. We turned on the generator and the house batteries show charging at all 4 levels. Once they were fully charged (14.6), shut off the generator, it showed the inverter was on and the batteries were charged. The panel never showed charging while on shore power. Approximately 30 hours later, we left, drove approximately 100 miles to Belton Lake and plugged into shore power. Still no charge showing on panel from shore power. When the batteries got down to 11.2 while on shore power, we started the generator again to charge the batteries. Everything was working in the RV on both shore power and generator. But knowing we could not trust it to keep a charge, we had to park it at home. Had to get to Abilene where my husbands sister is in ICU. Trying to get it to work correctly so we can get back to Abilene with the RV.

Me too with the converter. I have no shore power at all now. I'll be reading your posts.

I don't have the experience to provide you solid recommendations though on my own coach I'd check the inverter/converter mounted switches/fuses (on some units one is dedicated to the charging circuit). On a more positive note: two other recommendations: enter the word 'inverter' into the search bar on the top right of the site pages, and/or place a new post on the 'RV Systems' forum (where it will get more visibility). Hang in there...

Our solution was to replace the plug end on the electrical cord that connects the coach to the shore power. I'm sorry it took so long to reply, but I wanted to make sure our problem was really fixed before I posted the solution. Leaving for Abilene Texas tomorrow. I wish you luck in finding a solution to your problem.
