Just want to say hey and glad to be a new member of this site. Wife and I are from Ontario, Canada and just bought our truck and 5th wheel for our 30th anniversary. The trailer is still at the dealers till spring and we can hardly wait for the cold and snow to be gone so we can get out on the road. Hope to be able to get together with some of you this summer.

Rick and Joanne

Welcome to IRV Rick & Joanne!! I believe your temperatures are running about the same as ours. We were through your area this past summer didn't stop though, but hopefully we will in the future. We have a niece living there but cities are not where we want to be on vacation.
Sure curious about that dog in your signature, would that be some kind of new breed or problem? Guess I should add the Gabber to my siggie.

Cheers
Willey

I didn't think the cold stopped any Ottawa residents from doing anything!

I was up there for a January business trip a few years ago and my clients made me skate the entire Rideau Canal. They said 'Its only 8 kilos, eh?' and we were on our way to some bar at the end. It was only after I skated another '8 kilos' back that I did the coversion to miles and realized I just ice skated about 9 MILES!

Welcome to the site!

The Canadian Parliament is not in session so there's no abundance of hot air from the politicians to combat the cold

Cheers

Thanks for the WARM welcome. It is -15 here this morning and really damp. The dampness makes it feel colder. At my age the cold and snow hold me back quite a bit. My kids named the dog (a Jack Russell long haired female) when she was a pup and it stuck. her real name is Lexie or a few other choice names depending on how bad she is acting up. Vancouver sounds like the place to be as it is warmer there than Florida right now.

Rick and Joanne:

Hi from Tampa and WELCOME to iRV2. Gotta tell ya how GREAT you folks up in Ottawa are. We visited a year or so ago and were walking around your Parliment area trying to find our way around by looking at little maps and brochures. Almost every time we stopped to check our maps, folks would come up to us and ask if they could help!!! It might be cool there now, but Ottawa is one of the WARMEST cities we've ever been in.

Glad to have you here, and we hope to meet up with you somewehre when ya hit the road. Again, WELCOME. Steve & Lynette

Welcome. You will find a number of Ottawa area RVer's on this site, so it can be a help with local issues, as well.
