Hi Everyone! RV Newbie here!

Well, the wife and I just got our first Class A motorhome, a 1985 Fleetwood Southwind 27'. It has the GMC P30 chassis with a 454 big block engine. This RV was given to us by a friend of the family and has been sitting since 2009. We had it towed to our property so we can work on it. We know we have a big project ahead of us and have come here for some inspiration and support.

Glad to be here and part of your great community!

iTunes,

Welcome to the Forum! You need to go under "Forums" and find a forum called "Vintage RVs" Look at a thread called "Total Rebuild". I think you will find it interesting. It will take a while, but the info there will be a big help.

If you start a thread there about your rig, these guys will come on and give their opinion and help. As you will see with the other thread, they helped a lot.

Sounds like you have found a great rig to restore and will have some tough times and many great ones. There is a guy here "Bap" who redoes old TT's, MH's, and whatever. He and his wife Debbie do some amazing redo's. Look them up.

Good luck with your project, I would love to follow your story. Fill in the info on your profile about the specifics of your rig. It helps those who want to help you. Lynne

Thank you so much, Lynne! I appreciate all the info. I'll head over to the Vintage RV section and start my journey!
