HI from a newbie

Hi, just wanted to introduce myself as a newbie to the RV world. My hubby and I are from Oklahoma, and, new at the RV thing, and, at retirement.
We purchased a new Coachman Freelander 22QBRS this weekend. We are looking forward to our first trip on the road. Not sure where that's going to be, but, I'm sure it's going to be a fun one. We will be traveling with our three Rat Terrier's too.
Where would you season pro's go this time of the year? How long would you say our first trip should be? As you can tell, I have a LOT of questions.
So, if you have any advise, or, tricks of the trade, I would love to hear them.

Welcome! My wife (retired) and me (still working) are new to RV'ing having just bought our first motorhome. I can't offer much input on places but we decided to stay 4 nights close to the dealer to shake out the coach incase there were any issues. No issues glad to say so we drove it 300 miles north to home. We stayed north of Santa Barbara, CA but I think we would have had the same blast wherever we had stayed because of the newness of the experience. Have fun and enjoy!

Thanks so much for the welcome Bill. We stayed overnight at the dealer to do the same thing. Sure glad we did, if we had any questions, they were right there to answer all our questions. Hope you enjoy your new toy, I know we are looking forward to all our new adventures.

From another Okie.

The first place we camped was the driveway for a couple of nights to learn all the systems. Plus anything we needed for the MH was just a short walk to the house.

We did short trips (20 miles) to the lake at a local COE campgrounds for test runs. This time of year we go north to cooler places

Safe trip Dan & Ronda,

Go east.......or west. Because you can.

Make the first trip last as long as possible...... Because you can.

I'm jealous.

Glad to see that you have joined us here in the forum.

Don't be afraid to take the trips you really want to go on. Go north to cooler weather. We loved South Dakota.

Happy Trails!!!

Thanks for all welcomes. Looking forward to getting our new rig out on the road and getting is party started. So glad I found this forum. Looking forward to getting to more fellow RV'ers.
We are looking at going North for sure. We have never been to Montana, so that might be our first trip. You have any suggestions?
