Hi from Florida

I've been looking for the perfect RV for traveling the west. Class B is too expensive, I thought Class C was perfect (except for gas mileage) and have now decided that 5th wheel is the way to go. I think..... I have seen a Sunnybrook 24CKFS that looks nice, 1999. Does anyone have any experience with this unit? Pros or cons would be helpful.

Thanks!

Sloopygirl;

Welcome to iRV2. You have come to the right place for answers to your RV questions. In regard to your question on Sunnybrook you may want to visit the Winnebago forum with your Sunnybrook questions as they are now part of the Winnebago Family. Good luck on your search.

Don

Hey sloopygirl,

No help on the Sunnybrook... but, I'm from Florida also (above Gainesville) and am heading out West next month. Heading up to South Dakota, Wyoming then south in hopes of a 5 or 6 month adventure. When do you think you will be heading West?

Concerning the rig - my first was a 30' Class C and that last about 10 months as 5-7mph was not in my plan for long trips. Now I have a truck and travel trailer - gets 12-13mph and more freedom to unhitch then use the truck to leave the campground.

Didn't look at 5th wheel as I felt they were too tall for me. However, a rig and a truck is GREAT -- 5th wheel or trailer. Keep us posted as your look.

Patsy

Welcome to IRV2! It's great to have you join us!

We pulled a 5er for 10 years before getting the MH last year. We loved it! I can't help with your questions but you will probably have better results by posting over in the appropriate areas of the forum. Not many folks hang out here in the Welcome area.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Hi -

These were my thoughts exactly. I didn't think about the 5th wheel until someone told me they were easier to pull and safer in case of crosswinds. And, they give you more space because of the part over the bed of the truck. So, my search is on and I want a small one, which is not easy to find. I have found one, the interior is really nice but it's a bit beat up because it's an older unit. So, the search continues for one, as well as a truck.

Good luck on your travels, maybe I'll meet up with you somewhere out there. Hope you have a great time - and a troublefree one!

Take care - Betty
