Hi from McKinney, Texas

My wife and I have been camping since we bought our first camper(a Palomino hard sided pop-up) in 1984. We used and enjoyed that great pop-up until it finally died in the early 2000's. We searched for another pop-up, could not find one we liked nearly as well as our previous one, and finally decided to buy a full sized travel trailer (a 2004 Palomino Thoroughbred 28 footer). We enjoy the new one a lot, but there are still things we miss about the old pop-up.
We've camped mostly with a family group, but as folks age, the group has kinda diminished, so we have been thinking about finding a club we could do some camping with. After browsing the net, the Texas Boomers (and irv2) looked to us like the group we want to try.
We can't make it to the February Boomers event, but we are planning to try to make it to the April event in Athens, Texas.
We're looking forward to starting to get aquainted with other members of the Boomers.

Howdy from Cypress, Texas. We do hope you can make it to a Texas Boomers rally. If you don;t have a good time, it is your own fault.

We won't be at the one in Athens the ways things look right now. Be sure and check the 2010 National Rally at the Grand canyon and also the Texas Boomers 10 year Anniversary Rally on Labor Day.

Hey from Flower Mound. We have been to one Texas Boomers for Halloween and had a ball! We'll be to more when our schedule permits. We're still working so we have to be a little more selective with locations and dates.

Another group you might be interested in is the North Texas Camping Association. We have been camping with them for nearly 10 years. We mostly stay in state and Corps of Engineers parks. You can learn about them here: ntxca : North Texas Camping Association (NTXCA).

Hope to see you soon!

Fantastic....new recipes and even better, new stories (?). Welcome to the forum and hopefully you'll make some of the Texas Boomer's get together.

BTW, this forum is full of friendly and knowledgeable folks that are always willing to help. I hope you will keep posting about your travels and any questions or resolutions you may have for our problems.
