Hi from Plano, TX
My wife, Kathy, and I will be retiring in 3 years and have decided, God willing and the creek don't rise, to buy a 5th wheel and spend a couple of years--or more if all goes well--and travel around the country. Our daughters both live in Portland, OR so we can spend summers with the family and travel the remainder of the time. My job is demanding--I'm a solo Family Doc--so we have only been able to spend short vacations for the past 40 years but we love to spend that time driving and exploring the country. I'm pretty handy and have already spent the past year researching RVs and the associated life style. I've set up a solar system on our stick & brick that can be transferred to our trailer when the time comes. Just a way of getting ready for the future. This forum seems very helpful and the responses, for the most part, are informative and useful.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your retirement plans. We lived in Plano up until retiring in October. We went full time in November. Only regret - didn't do it sooner.
