Question About TT and Weight

Hello all. Looking for a new home and going to take a big road trip (10K plus miles) to find a good place to raise our toddler and set down roots. I have a 2017 Ford Explorer with a 5,000lb tow rating. We are looking at 2018 Forest River Rockwood GEO PRO G14FK dry weight is listed as 1986 lbs. My question is does this seem like an ok TT as far as weight. I don't want to push the limits of the Explorer. Is 40% of tow rating for dry weight TT reasonable? Thanks Rich

Hi Rich! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Since I'm not a TT guy I will let someone else answer your question! Keep her between the ditches!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Be sure to visit us here in Minnesota/Wisconsin. (Both great states to raise kids and settle down. )

Welcome to the site. You will be fine. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here. Don't be afraid to ask questions. If you get a chance and can come thru Pennsylvania. You will love the scenery.
