Looks like a very timely and interesting forum. Our username come from we're in the "boomer" generation and my wife and I both ride motorcycles; thus 'bmrzmrs'.

We would appreciate your inputs and comments - we've pretty much ridden most of the road West of the Rockies ridden the bikes to and from the Bay Area. Most of these trips have been 2 to 3 weeks - scenery is great, a different bed and restaurant each night "sucks".

So the thinking is get an "RV" with a cargo trailer to haul the bikes, drive to an area to explore (numerous here in the West to return to as well as East of the Rockies), find a place to park and then explore the area on the bikes and fish/etc, and then move on. We expect we'd be on the road 2 to 4 months at a time with maybe 2 to 7 days in one spot.

Our thinking as move from a 5th wheel/toy hauler, to a Class-C to now a Class-A in the less than 34' size. Some of the places we've seen are limited to 35' or less.

What makes and models RVs should we look into? What are the key features to look for?

Welcome. Check out many RV outlets and see what they have that fit your needs. A chassis that is strong enough to pull the trailer or a toad, diesel or gas, A floorplan that works for you. TAKE YOUR TIME. Once you decide what you want and find a unit that fits the bill have it professionally checked out.

Howdy folks.. welcome.. and as Ronnie said.. take your time.. go to some of the shows.. such as the big one in Pleasanton. Sit in them, do some research (here and elsewhere), and make sure it's all comfortable. One of the first things we do when we see something we might be interested in is to sit on the "pot" and see if it's easy to getup from.. also the shower.. can you turn around in it... What about storage inside and out.. for clothes, hobby stuff.. pots n pans.

Some RV's are pretty glitzy.. but lack in the necessities... but, there is something for every one.. New? Used? So much to think about..
