Hi From Vancouver Island

We joined back in June and have been lurking for the last few months. Our camping and RVing experience has been sporadic over the years. Starting with a 13 ft Ventura, back to a tent trailer for awhile, then a Volkswagen camper van and finally several motor home rentals. Last fall we decided to try tent camping again. Loved the camping but found that our age we could do without the 3:00am trip to the biffy. So, we bought a 22 ft trailer and went south from Canada last winter for a 2 month tour of California, Arizona and Utah. We were enjoying ourselves so much we hated to come home. But, family commitments necessitated our return to Victoria. Having been bitten by the RV lifestyle we wanted to upgrade. After scouring this site and several others we settled on the type of vehicle we were looking for. To make a long story short we put a deposit on a Thor Palazzo this weekend. We are now in the "OMG - what have we done", phase. We pick it up at the end of this month. Never having owned a class A before we'll be leaning heavily on the experience of the users of this site. I've already learned tons by spending hours and hours reading numerous threads on it.

Hello, and Safe Travels, we're rain birds ourselves and have been doing the south thing for 5 years.
P.S. much cheeper to drive your towed on seperately than pay the length on the ferry.

If you get the urge to wander on the Island there are thousands of great camping spots available, some free and most affordable. A group we travel with sporatically decide to head somewhere or other interesting and if you care to join in I can let you know when and where we are headed.

Weekend after next we will be in your neck of the woods staying at Heritage Acres for the big V.I.M.E. fortieth anniversary party. Friday through Sunday we will be playing trains and having fun.

Hi Jim & Lisa! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad that you decided to join the group here! I understand your feeling! We went from 11 years pulling a 5er to the MH a few months ago and it was definitely a shocker! Right after that we took a 7000 mile, 2-month trip out west in it, and are now feeling very good about the change. Just take it slow and easy and everything will work out OK! Have fun & keep it between the ditches! God bless!

What a beautiful motorhome you've ordered! I had to google it and look at them. Perfect!

Also, you live in a gorgeous place! I absolutely love that part of the world. Welcome to the forum and keep us posted on your travels and experiences!
