I am Glen Cowgill living in South Florida where there is NO snow. Been RV'ing since 1972 and still enjoy it. Have enjoyed camping since I was a kid in the 40's. Will be 70 this year and still going. I am retired from the Air Force and was an Air TRaffic Controller, Also retired from Miami-Dade County Public Schools where I taught Automotive Technology.

I have owned Travel Trailers, Several Class A's, A Class B+, and a fifth wheel. Current Coach is a 2009 Fleetwood Bounder 36B DP. We just bought it new even though it sat on the lot over a year but it is a perfect layout to take a couple grandchildren when we want to. We do have a brick and mortar home in South Florida and we travel about 4-5 months of the year. No cold weather camping.

Many thanks to all. I always learn new things when I read others comments, The old cliche "You are never too old to learn" most certainly applies here. When I know the answer I will pipe up but I will also ask the question when I don't. BTW, we travel through Charlotte quite often when going to WV where I grew up. Mechanical problems I may be able to help as well as electrical and computer as in Automotive computer problems. Just remember, it is hard to diagnose long distances.

Alwas glad to try to help. I don't mind personal messages but may be slow to respond when on the road. Hope to see you all on the road and to the one just wanting to get into RVing, my four children grew up RVing and they learned a lot about the outdoors which I know that they are passing on to their children. If you havn't done it before do your research and listen to others and hopefully you will get it right the first time.

Welcome Glen,
I was born and raised in Broward County (Hallandale/Hollywood). Now I live in the far end of the state. Why don't you point your Bounder north and join us at the FMCA rally in Perry, GA the middle of next month. Have plenty of lies to swap. Your older, but not by much. I'll celebrate my 68th in Perry.

Jim, We elected to spend a couple days in Orlando after Sarasota and then take our time going to Myrtle Beach. We have old friends that live in Myrtle Beach that we want to see and visit with otherwise we may have went to Perry. I would have liked to have went to Brooksville but we already had a commitment in Sarasota the same weekend. We have a big get-together in Sarasota for a bunch of us transplanted HillBillys and classmates from the Clarksburg, WV area.

We have met so many really nice folks over the years RVing and we look forward to running into them again and again. I used to do the Bluegrass festivals but then we kind of lost contact with that. Maybe again some day as I really enjoy music and just good ol story telling by the fire.

Incidently, I am feeling stronger now than I did when I was 68. Went through a couple bad years with health issues until they found one of the medications I was taking was the cause.

Hope to see you all out there. The RV community reminds me of the openess and friendlyness of days long gone.
