Hi All,
My Hubby Doug and I have been retired for 3 yrs from Army/Government Careers. On Jan 1, 2010 we picked up a new Viking PoP Up- very basic model (1906) and it's our "road wagon" for NASCAR races, and mostly short distance and few day trips in the Southeast. We tow it with a Volvo XC90. Our camping buddies are 2 longhair standard Dachshunds and sometimes meet up with friends. Both of us also ride motorcycles-Kawasaki Vulcan 2000 (his) and Vulcan 1700 Nomad (mine). Ride those close to home also- cuz we don't leave our Doxies in a Kennel. Right now camping and riding are separate, but I'm here to find out about options to consider for a Camping plus Motorcycle Option that will be 'affordable'- and meet our needs in 2yrs or so. We'll get plenty of use out of the Toys we have now, for sure. Lot's of great ideas here so far. Looked at Truck Campers, small Class B, C. Look forward to chatting and exchanging helpful info- and share in the comaraderie of RV and Rider Enthusiasts.
Ride, Drive Safe out There. Karen

Karen, Just said hello in your test post. For the future you may want to look into a toy hauler, where you will be able to take the bikes and the furry kids. We have a Harley, but don't usually take it with us because we tow the Chevy Tracker behind us for transportation when we get where we're going. If you were to get a 5th wheel toy hauler, you could have both transportation and take the bikes alaong with the furry kids. Good luck, John H...

Welcome to the site. You definitely came to the right place to seek advice. Not sure if you thought about it, but you may also look at "Toy Haulers".
Looks like John beat me to the punch on the toy hauler thing...

It's good to meet everyone. It's been a few years since I researched, "shopped", Toyhaulers so good suggestion to revisit. Also will update myself on the 5 ers. An immediate fix is for One of us to Drive/pull the PoP Up (with Doxie Passengers) and the other one to Ride. Both Bikes are 2 Up, altho Doug has more room to stretch out on his Bike -he's 6'4" .. All I have to do is to learn how to drive w/PU. Not out of the question. We don't do a lot of 2 Up Riding but there are exceptions.
Have a great day, Karen
