Hidee ho from Louisville Ky

hidee ho neighbors!! Currently *not* an RV owner, but i'm within 90 days of my purchase. I have pretty much typical experience staying in different rvs, trailers, etc while camping. Spent a year on the road in the circus. I've been doing my "homework" for about a year solid. Been to a couple of different RV centers for walkthrus and trying out the different systems.

I'm retired, and disabled - I've always wanted to roam the US of A in an RV, and now's the time.

Thanks to the iRV2 crew for all the great info.

I'm off to find a used Class A. Still haven't decided if I want to luxo barge tag axle, or go <30 to get into state parks easier. Gas or DP?? Ah decisions, decisions....

Each has its advantages and disadvantages, the 26 footer works for us.

Welcome, FlawedKY. Born and raised in Louisville myself. Only you can decide which RV suits you the best. Lots of discussions here on DP vs Gas and sizes. Use the google search box at the top of the page to find them. We have a 31 foot gas because it suits our habit of state/natl parks and using it once a month for a week. Your habits will be different. Good luck and happy RVing.

Hi Flawed
We've been doing this about 2 years now we're down by Ft Knox. Also retired. I'ld avoid Northside in Lexington if I was you. The salemen are oxygen thieves and the service dept don't know what service is. I know of a 1998 Dutch Star 38 with 80K for around 25K if that helps. I'm in a Bounder 35K gas. As a matter of fact I'm trading my 14 in for a 16 next week. Good Luck so much to learn and enjoy in RV land.

x2 on Northside!
Same goes for Bluegrass RV across the street! Not a bad place to go if you need a part in a hurry, but prices on New/Used are . . . . well, lets just say they are living in a different plain of reality than most people! Plus, for god sake, CLEAN UP ALL THE DEAD INSECTS IN THE RV'S BEFORE YOU SHOW THEM! And YES, I want to see the slides work, even if it means you're going to have to toddle over to the garage and get a battery cart to augment the dead ones in the coach!
