Hittin' the Road...

My partner and I just purchased our first RV, a 40' Monaco Diplomat. We both travel for business and decided we'd rather have our home with us than live out of hotels anymore. Picking up our new home next week and heading out for a test drive for 2 weeks.

sweet thanks! We've put together a checklist based on a number of sites, lists and comments from all you experienced RV'ers out there, and I appreciate all the help we can get on things. We've already purchased and are having the DiamondRV install a highend surge protector and a good tire monitoring system. I'm also installing a small HALON automatic extinguisher in the Fridge access area ( NORCOLD issues, even though our unit does not seem to be on any recall lists ). We're purchasing additional extinguishers for in the cabin, first aid kits, solid tool kit ( any thought here would be very helpful) chains, extra filters and expendables, air hose to install on the air system, CB, GPS, and adding some additional shelving and a desk on board. Being ex-Navy and a sailor and part-time cop, i'm always a little nuts about safety gear.
