It took me three years to make a decision on what MH to purchase. There are so many things to consider, it is almost impossible to choose. At the end of the day, understand that no matter what you purchase, you will probably have moments where you wish you had bought something different.
If money is no object, I would go with DP. I based my decision to go with a gasser on initial cost, maintenance cost, and type of travel I would be doing.

Fueling - Depending on what length coach you are looking at, you may have issues finding gas stations that will accommodate your rig. I have had that problem a few times already. Diesel lanes at truck stops are always accessible no matter what your rig length.

Storage compartments - While my coach has ample storage for my needs, many DP's have significantly more basement storage.

Towing capacity - DP will typically have greater towing capacity than a gasser. (I learned that the hard way)

Campground limitations - I have found there are numerous CG's that have length restrictions.

These are just a few things to think about and are strictly my opinion. Good luck with your endeavor.

You and your significant other are the factors in that decision.
(In my case it was the MORE significant other that decided for me !)

Floor plan will dictate most of it ---
in our case after having been in tents, popups, tt's, 5'ers, class A, B. and C (so far) the floor plan in our last 5'er was close to our favorite, but the features and floor plan in the Class A has won out...

What's the saying ? buy your third RV first obviously we didn't and tried them all!

good luck !

Super broad range there. Tell us more..

New, used? Idea on budget? Length? Type of travel (full time, occasional, in state only, up mountains and down? Wanna drive to Alaska?)

From there, more help will flood your way with new ideas and research

Welcome to the Forum. You might want to visit PPL consignment on east I10. You can look at their inventory at your leisure, without salesman pressure to get a feel for layout and floorplans. You have not said whether you are looking for new or used.

40 ft. DP. Gonna buy third one first time. I have looked at ppl. Not impressed with what I have seen there. Mainly used from Texas to who knows where. Budget up to 150 k but not into glitzy. Nice and clean will work

THIS Used 2007 Tiffin Phaeton

Looks like a good buy to me. The phaetons are always solid units, and this particular floorplan is probably one of the most perfect.

There are also models of allegro bus, and models of Country coach that shared a similar ploorplan.

What i like about these floorplans the most is the way the bathroom shower area is expanded near the bedroom, making the whole area feel spacious.

With your budget and what I know now, I would be at MHSRV looking that phateon over on Monday. Great price and it looks very clean. You get to keep some of your money.
