Howdy!

Howdy!

New to this forum. We have our second MH, a WB Adventurer 37B (2005) and love it. As with many, we don't get to use nearly enough. Now it is mostly to visit DS at TAMU some weekends. We will do more as time and $$ permit--DD goes off to school in 2013. We started RVs because we wanted to bring the 4 dogs (3 Great Danes and a Pound Hound) along on vacation--they are part of the fam as well.

Anyway, happy to be here. I know I'll learn a ton, hope to contribute something too.

Scott

Well Dr Scott, congratulations! That is the exact reason we got into rving also, so we could bring our Dog with us. After all they are our best friends!
Sounds like you have some great adventures ahead.
Have fun and safe travels!

Howdy, and welcome to the forum. We too got into RV'ing because of our dog Benji, who we just lost recently. Just returned from Myrtle beach which was our first trip without him in 16 years. Enjoy your RV and hope you have many safe and relaxing trips.

Hi John H:
Sorry to hear about Benji. We lost our dog, Great Pyrenees, 5 years ago. I cryed for months and could not even talk about it without getting upset. After Casey passed away I told my wife no more dogs. I did not want to go through that again. So now we have two dogs. A Greater Swiss Mountain dog, he is 140lbs, and a Saint Benard, she is about 110lbs and still a baby. We have a 38' diesel pusher and I think we need to get a bigger motor home.

Through the last 25 years we have lost 4 buddies--Boo, Rocky, Moses, and Nash. I get choked up to think about each of them. Each has his own special place in our hearts, as does each member of our current pack. It never has gotten easier to lose one. I don't expect it ever to get easier either. Despite the pain of loss, the joy of life with them is irreplaceable. We will always have at least 1 dog in our home.

DrScott,Yes, it was a traumatic process for both my wife and I and is still difficult. As much as I love dogs, we have discussed it and don't think we will ever get another. Between the two of us and previous marriages, we have 4 kids and 8 G-kids, but no children together. Benji was ours together. It also was more difficult because we had to put him down due to a cancerous tumor in his nostril which made his breathing labored and was to only get worse.

We too took up RV'ing because it allows us to bring the boys (dogs) along with us. DW just can't stand the thought of sending them to the kennel. I am pretty sure she would send me before she would send the boys.

Howdy,
We have been full-timing in our 40' Coachmen "Elite" for the past two years. Enjoying the sunny weather in Fl and meeting so many wonderful friends. We look forward to being a part of this forum and learning as much as possible from all of you and making new friendships. We began this journey with our first motor home in 2006 part-time and learn something new every day.

Does anyone out there know how to remove heavy glue residue without ruining the paint on the front of our RV? We have removed the diamond shield already. Any input will be appreciated.

Dr. Scott, we also share your grief, as we lost two of our dogs. "Sami" a beautiful, black Chow-chow after only 10 years and our "MacBear", silver toy poodle of 15 years. We couldn't stand the silence and brought home our golden-doodle (85lbs.) and two years later adopted a rescue puppy while in Indiana. They both love to travel and hop up onto the front passenger seat when they hear the engine start up.

Happy travels ahead!
