I have been lurking around the forum for about a month now, and finally decided to join.
My husband and I purchased a 2012 Skyline Nomad 183 Retro travel trailer about a month ago. We love it! It is our first RV, and we have already used it three times.
At the moment we are just weekend RVers, but eventually, the dream is to retire and try to go full time in order to travel the country. It will be a while before that happens, though. (I am 32 and the husband is 40, so we have a bit of working time ahead of us.)
We travel with our two dogs. Murphy is an 8 year old lab/pit bull mix, and Wilber is a three and a half year old pit bull. They really love the TT as well!
Thus far we have been mainly camping and planning to camp in state parks and state recreation areas, but we have also found a good local campground that we really like. We really like the state parks and recreation areas because the sites are relatively secluded, private, and large! We also love to hike, and the parks and recreation areas have some great trails. Also, they do not have breed restrictions on dogs. (A lot of places will not allow pit bulls due to insurance restrictions or breed prejudice.)
All in all, we could not be happier with our purchase and entrance in to the RV lifestyle!
