Howdy folks

New RV'r here with an old RV.

I bought this last year from a relative for next to nothing. It does have some water system leaks and I don't trust the gas or wiring since I haven't personally thoroughly inspected it. But I'm excited to get started restoring it. I'm sure I'll have all kinds of silly questions as I get further into it.

Here's some pics from last year.

And 2 weeks ago:

Hi Shooter,

Welcome to the Forum! You've come to the right place to learn what you need to know to redo your TT. I'm going to suggest you go to "Vintage RVs" and start a thread there about your rig.

There is a thread called "Total Rebuild" that I think you will find particularly helpful for your project. It's a long one, but read it all. Terry has some unreal skills.

There is a man named "Bap" who he and his wife redo old TT's all the time. He can be an amazing resource for you. Start a thread there and he will find you. Just watch for his name.

Good luck with your TT and the rebuild. These can be fabulous when they are done. They were built well and can stand the time.

Thanks a lot.

I'll definitely be doing a lot of reading. Unfortunately I have to keep it 120 miles away at my parents' house. So everything will be done on weekends and as funds are available. Luckily I have experience with water plumbing, gas plumbing, and some wiring. Hopefully I can get it all done....correctly.

Lots of potential! Looks like you can still take it camping even though it may be a work in process. Enjoy,

Thanks,

Unfortunately, I haven't camped in it yet. However, my mother, aunt, and 4 10yr old girls stayed 3 days in it at a family reunion. Then I loaned it to a friend and his family for 5 days at the chuckwagon races. And my brother and SIL spent a weekend in it at the lake...maybe I should charge rent, lol. J/k my brother is going to be helping me work on it.

Congrats!

Congrats on the purchase of your Brentwood. It looks great! Have fun with the restoration! I like the layout of this trailer. I bought mine because of the layout, but it ended up needing a total tear down and restore. It's really shiny now! I messaged you some questions about original things in the trailer. Please be on the look out for it.
Thanks and good luck with the restoration!
