Glad to have you aboard. Check out the Texas Boomers under the clubs and Rallies.

As fro places to go, central Texas is loaded with state parks and private campgrounds. Get a campground directory and start picking out some spots. Problem with the state parks is that they are all pretty well booked for weekends and holidays through the fall.

Have fun

Ken

Hey Txiceman, Yep I sent an email to join the boomers but no replies yet...and I also indicated that we were interested in the 4th July rally in Tow, Texas. Sounds like a fun group! I love your avatar! How did you do that??
Cheers, Tee

Hey Tee & Dan,

Glad to have you aboard! You did get a reply to the 4th of July rally, it's under the 4th of July rally list.

Kris (minnie boomer) is handling this one for Madam Boomer and has her 'puter down right now so the response was from me. Also noticed your name change, that may have cause a little confusion at first.

Also, note that we have a rally coming up Easter weekend (3/25-27) or a combination of whatever days you can make it. This one is at Buckhorn RV Resort in Kerrville. Info listed under South Central Region on the IRV2 main forum page.

Now comes the hard part, to become a member of the Texas Boomers, Ya haf to attend a rally!

Look forward to meeting y'all and hope I didn't step on Madam Boomers toes to much with this reply. But it seems I also stay in trouble-----

Best,

Tee & Dan, welcome from Canyon Lake! I'm pretty new (not pretty, just new), but Texas State Parks are a great start. Good luck!

For some real scenery, try Inks Lake State Park the first part of April. The area around Llano and Burnett will blow you away with the Bluebonnets and paintbrush. If the SP is full, try some of the private campgronds. Nice one at Marble Falls and supposed to be a nice one at Tow.

While at Lake Buchanan, there is Longhorn Caverns, The Vanishing River Cruise, several vineyards and if you hit it right, the Poppy Festival in Georgetown. Also see Inner-Space Caverns in Georgetown.

Wow, loads of places to check out!! thanks for the ideas!! Is the internet the best place to locate the private camp grounds or is there a guide book that works better?
Cheers, Tee

We always travel with the Campground Directory. You can pick these up at Camping World as well as a number of other RV stores. You can also find campgrounds through Reserve America and the Texas state park site.

Hi Texas Treat -

WELCOME to iRV2.com! You'll find this website to be the BEST in all of the RV'ing world!

I also want to welcome you to the South Central Section and to the Texas Boomers! We'll be looking forward to meeting ya'll SOON at one of our rallies.

I apologize for not getting with you earlier...don't know where you got in touch with the Boomers, but nothing came through in my email box! Glitches happen!

Nonetheless, I "ditto" Ruppr's welcome and invite you to check out all the rallies we've got planned this year! All you gotta do is SIGN UP AND COME meet a great group of new friends!

Sandy

Howdy Madame Boomer! We look forward to meeting everyone! We won't be able to join y'all for Easter but definetly for Memorial Day in Palacios! Please put us on the list! Do you need payment up front and sent to you for the space? Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help etc.! I love to organize and plan things (one of the things that I'm good at!) just give me a holler and I'll be happy to do whatever!!
Cheers, Tee & Dan

Hi Tee -

Got ya'll down for the Memorial Day outing at Palacios! This is our first time to go there, but have heard great things about it!

After the Easter rally, I'll get things rolling on the next rally, so keep watch for updates and news on the South Central Section!

Thanks for the invite to help - believe me, I need all the help I can get!

Sandy

PS: can you email me privately at sandycreek@ev1.net so I can get your email address to keep in touch!
