Howdy From Calgary

Just wanted to pop in and say hello. New to iRV2, and have only been doing RV'ing for a couple years with a small 21' TT. We just bought a Heartland Bighorn 5th, and pick it up in a few days. Excited to get into something with more room. I see the term 'DW' quite a bit here.. what is that? "Da Wife"?

Congrats on your purchase. Let me guess you saw your Bighorn at last weeks RV Show?
The way the weather has been like for the past few days you may be camping in it soon.

That's right. We did buy it at the show. I think we got a bit of a deal through the show, but ya never know. I trust nobody, especially sales people. Anyway, it was a between an Open Range and the Bighorn, but the 90 gallon grey water capacity of the Bighorn won out (open range 57gal). We've been talking about upgrading to a fiver for some time... and the time was right for us. We did a 30 day trip down south two years ago, and we learnt then that we needed something bigger than a 21' with no slides and no seating other than the tiny dinette. We've never winter camped in an RV before, so will need to figure that out. It is something we want to try, now that we have a suitable RV for it.

Welcome to IRV2! We're really glad you joined us!

Congrats on the new rig! Hope you enjoy it and also enjoy the forum!

I have always been told that "DW" was "darling wife", but as others have said, it can be whatever you feel like at the time!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!
