Howdy from San Antonio

Martie and I (Dave) would like to introduce ourselves to the forum. Have lurked thru here a few times and it looks like a fun group to get acquainted with. We have been RVing off and on for several years and currently have a 1999 Monaco Mckenzie TT for our primary camping needs. We also have a 1986 Foretravel Motorhome and a 1995 Coleman P/U.

I started off camping under the stars (about a hundred years ago) and after a few rain drops in the face, I discovered tents. After several years camping in tents, we graduated to the popup camper. We then bought a motorhome and camped in it for several outings but it turned out to be too small for us. Thats when we got the McKenzie and it has served us well.

Well anyway to keep this short we are looking forward to being part of this forum and hopefully some great exchanges.

Dave and Martha

Dave & Martha,
Welcome!
For even more fun try the Texas Boomers (below).
We're rather new but have found them to be a great group with lots of activities.

sadave, welcome!

Your story of transition is similar to many of us here, although I gave up sleeping 'under the stars' when I transitioned from 'camping' in our backyard, at about age 8. (when I could no longer run inside at the first sign of rain)

I'm not much for cities, but I did enjoy what little time off I had when in San Antonio for about a month, on business, back in the mid 90's. It's a beautiful area. I'd explore one of the many missions on my lunch breaks, while working in the 'blue collar' areas in the south of the city. A buddy and I would spend our evenings downtown either on, or within a few blocks of, the riverwalk. For those that have never been, they should plan a stop in San Antonio.
