Howdy, RenFaire Rver

Howdy y'all! *ahem* G'day me Lords and Ladies!
We just joined the RV family this spring and are still getting to know the ups, downs, and sideways of RVing.
We bought a '90 Safari Kenya for PT living while working RenFaires.
Within days of taking ownership we found the turn signals didn't work; 1st grrrrrr.
Our first experience filling the water tank took 3 hours and we laughed for days. Trying to locate the valve to flush the toilet-giggles. And the first time we tried to close the main awning, I got my fingers in the way and it darn near took them off! Still haven't figured out how to close the awning smoothly.
Then the generator died the last weekend of the season-right when we need the A/C. After 5 months, we're thinking maybe a new genny.
We love our Safari, but I just can't believe what a PITA its been.
Maybe once we get the 'kinks' out-it will be lovely.
BTW-any thoughts on tankless water heaters? 2 minute showers just don't work when your hair is 3' long.

Welcome, Gibbons! Sorry to hear you have had problems, but we can help sort them out.

RV generators are expensive to replace and often expensive to repair as well. Start a discussion in the motorhomes forums and describe your problem with the genset - maybe our collective wisdom will be enough to get it going again without a great expense.

A few people have installed tankless water heaters in their RV, either electric or propane. If you use the Search function, you should find several previous discussions.

Thanks Gary, as a visitor here I searched the forums for the gen prob. Was able to send Wolf in search of elect. to the transfer switch...no juice getting there. Its not the voltage reg either. We are now to the point of pulling it and taking it in. The 4 week waitlist puts us hard up against opening weekend for Fair...that's why the "new" option was put forth.
You are right, I DO need to search for the heater opinion. Sorry, I put that question in the wrong place. I promise to get better at using the site.
