Post I'm Green as a pea pod

Hello Members of the iRV.com forum community,

I live in Eagle Pass, Texas. As of this posting, I am not a motor home owner although I have owned a few RVs - a fifth wheel, travel trailer, and most recent (for those fishing weekends), a pop-up - but I am seriously looking at getting into a pre-owned MH.

The budget is small; thus, my choices are limited to models under $26K. My needs are not luxury but practical, short-term periods of use (mostly in spring and summer conditions), and sufficient accommodations for not more than 4 adults at any given time but more frequently, just myself.

I'm thinking retirement from full-time teaching in the public school system and moving to adjunct faculty positions that I currently enjoy. The plan is to used the MH to travel out of state, take adjunct faculty positions at college/university during my spring/summer time when I don't teach during regular semesters as an adjunct faculty member back home.

I don't know much about the category, MH, but I ahve an idea of what I want and some sense of what I can get for the budget that I have to work with on the initial purchase.

So, I'm at the stage when it comes to getting help. Ron E.

Test drive... I had a bounder that I had to steer constantly. My shoulders hurt after just a few hours. Also, the thickness of the seats means a lot. and the mattress.

Hi Ron, welcome to IRV2. I would suggest you rent some differnt RV's and then you will have an idea what you want or don't want. Floorplan is also important. Good luck and hope to see you on the road. Safe travels.

Hi Ron! Welcome to IRV2!

I would suggest going to the many used RV sales sites and seeing what's available in your price range. I think most of them allow you to put in a price range to search for, so this would let you see what you can get in that price range.

Good luck & God bless!
