Mechanic checked a few things and found some mickey mouse repairs. Gotta tune it up before he can do anything more engine wise. Never seen spark plugs (back 4 only so far. Haven't figured out how to get to front 4 ) so bad and #3 cylinder is not firing. All original plugs, wires, etc. but 2 of my kids are supposed to be over this week and help me tune it up. Mechanic said he found no problem with the pumps other than a replacement high pressure pump was installed and some wiring was by passed because part of the harness was melted! Every thing else checked out good and rail pressure was 32-35. I figured out where most of the under hood wiring was supposed to be connected and got the coach lights, a/c, ( needs charge, not very cool ) fridge ( doesn't work on ac power ) water pump, generator ( cranks but no start except with starting fluid ). When I bought it I was surprised it was only a 3.0 Onan.
Now, If any other owners with a 80's 7.5/460, econoline 350 can fill me in on problems you have found and what repairs you had to do, other than routine maintenance, I would appreciate it. Motorhomes are a new experience for me and want to get this bugger on the road. When I bought it I already knew it needed some work and planned on spending my disabily checks on it but don't want to spend money needlessly. Thanks to all in advance.
