I literally just found out about iRV2 this evening from a camper in an adjacent site here at the Mt. Shasta KOA (Yep - we're currently traveling).

First off, Dan and I are 70-something seniors who recently bought a new 2016 KZ Spree Escape after moving up from a Popup tent trailer. We have many, many happy memories of camping in our Popup but it just became too much work what with the loading, set up, unloading, and take down. Whew. So we got our new TT on June 21st and have already camped five times in it. We love it!

Our tow vehicle is a 2007 Ford Explorer with the 4.0 V6 and tow package. We have to admit that in retrospect it may be a bit underpowered as far as towing the Escape, which is rated at 2735 dry. But the Explorer has been well-maintained and we're easy on it, loading thoughtfully and lightly.

This trip will take 3 months, all the way north up into Canada so I know we'll learn a lot along the way. Things we found out so far: we LOVE having our own bathroom and not having to stop at icky service stations! We also love being able to avoid restaurants and eat healthy while traveling. We just pull over and have lunch either in the TT or at a rest stop picnic table.

We do love to travel and since we're retired it's been a joy to take our time without a rigid schedule and stay as long or as short a time as we want. And no more wet canvas to deal with if we encounter some rain. Yay!

I'm looking forward to browsing this forum and getting to know the folks here. It sure looks like a great place!

Welcome! I from Coronado, CA but have lived in Hilton head, SC for some time now. I to started in a pop up but now my wife and I have a Dutch Star Motor home. The only thing I regret about RV'ing is being between trips. Enjoy you excursion and have fun.
