Jumped Right In --- Now FaReeking Out

Awesome Website. Quite like, CruiseCritic, which I am very familiar with.
Trading that obsession in as of 2 days ago, for irv2!
Did lots of research for 1-2 years. But never found this website...wow.
Pulled the trigger, the whole package in a day and now very anxious!

About us:
DH and I both grew up doing lots of camping. We are motorcyclists & ATV fans.
He retires in Dec 2017, at which time we intend to be snowbirds and fly this frozen tundra in the winter.

Two days ago we purchased a new Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Diesel PU.
We drove from the Dodge dealer to an RV dealer and purchased a Evergreen Tesla T3212 5er Toyhauler at an obscenely great price -- less than half off MSRP.
Then I find this website and see that Evergreen is going belly up. Hmmmmm.
We take delivery of 5er in a week, after truck gets all the accessories we added, including 5th wheel stuff---it was pre-prepped for it so that helped.

My first few questions are:
A) Good source for PDI checklist?
B) Best resources for bridge height clearance information?
C) Is there a checklist on what to pack....what not to forget!?
Thanks for your time and consideration.

Welcome to the group! You are correct, there is a lot of good information here. It is good to have you aboard.

As for your question B: I have a truckers map (Rand McNally) that gives much of that information. I also use a Truckers dezi GPS. And I have my height (feet/meters) and weight (pounds/kg) printed on a label within view of the driver.

I'm hoping you bought enough truck!

Here's a link to my wife's packing lists (yes two) plus some black and grey tank guidelines.

B) Buy a GPS made for RVs so you can input your height and weight. I download and use the POI file from here to stay up to date on low clearances.

Low Clearance POI - GPS Data

Thanks, ByeTheWay.
Great idea to keep the RVs data posted near the driver.

The lists are great and helpful, plasma800, thanks much.
We'll be a bit close with the truck size, but we'll never have it at cargo capacity and checked it from a few angles and feel fine with it.

sdennislee--Thank you, I'll be ordering all that (and more!). LOL

Hi! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Congrats on the new rig! Keep her between the ditches!

I would recommend a good RV-specific GPS and a Rand McNally Motor Carriers Atlas!

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

I did not realize the RV GPS had input for weight and height. My Truck gps does that also. Plus fuel stations. I too put custom POI's in including, Elks, PassPort Am., Casino's, Days End, CoEs.

Welcome to the greatest RV forum.

For bridge heights, propane restrictions, tolls etc, I use the Rand Mcnally GPS. Yes it has warts but all of them do. I have two of them and always cross check the routing.
